Step 1: Firm Information

Let's start by setting up your firm's account. This should take about 1 minute.

* Required fields

Your law firm's official name (used for identification only)
Choose a username for logging into the dashboard (lowercase letters and numbers only)
Choose a strong password (minimum 8 characters)

🔒 Security Note

Your password is encrypted with bcrypt hashing before storage. We never store passwords in plain text.

Step 2: Email Monitoring

Connect the email account that receives Evidence.com download notifications. This allows LawPlanned to automatically detect new evidence files.

📧 Gmail Users - Important!

If using Gmail, you MUST create an app-specific password (not your regular Gmail password):

1. Visit: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords
2. Enable 2-Step Verification (if not already enabled)
3. Generate password for "Mail" → "LawPlanned"
4. Copy the 16-character code and use it below

The email account that receives Evidence.com download notifications
Gmail: App-specific password (16 characters, no spaces)
Other email providers: Your regular email password
Leave as default (imap.gmail.com) if using Gmail. For Outlook: outlook.office365.com

💡 Why Test Connection?

We'll verify your credentials before saving them. This ensures everything works correctly and prevents errors later.

Step 3: Dropbox Connection

Connect your firm's Dropbox account where evidence files will be stored. This is the most important step - take your time!

📦 First Time? Create a Dropbox App (5 minutes)

Step 1: Visit Dropbox App Console → Click "Create app"

Step 2: Choose "Scoped access" + "Full Dropbox" + Name it "LawPlanned Evidence"

Step 3: In Permissions tab → Enable these 5 permissions:

✓ files.metadata.write
✓ files.content.read
✓ files.content.write
✓ sharing.write

Step 4: In Settings tab → Redirect URIs → Add:

https://lawplanned.com/oauth/dropbox/callback

Step 5: Copy your App Key and App Secret from Settings tab

Once you have your Dropbox App Key and Secret, click below to start the connection process.

Enter your Dropbox App credentials below. These can be found in your Dropbox App Console → Settings tab.

This will open a popup where you'll log into Dropbox and authorize access
The folder in Dropbox where your case folders are stored.
Example: If your cases are in "/MyCase/Cases/State v Smith", enter "/MyCase/Cases"

🔒 Security & Privacy

Your Dropbox credentials are encrypted with AES-256 before storage. You can revoke our app's access anytime from your Dropbox account settings.
